It is a stone statue of Cheju Island tradition put in the torr Hull van Park of Cheju Island [torr Hull van]. Originally the torr Hull van (a stone old man) was a guardian deity put up at the entrance of the gate of the district in the Korea Heian period (a travelers' guardian deity).
